Hong Kong Attacking The Philippines – A matter for prayer
Sorry for the delay in sending this information. There has been
a lot of catching up to do. Jet lag has been so easy this time I am
really amazed. Thank you so much for your prayers. Though there have
been many intense battles I had such a confidence this time because
I knew you were standing with me. Several of you gave me a word to
keep with me on this trip and I just wanted you to know those words
held true and stood strong. Thank you.
Going to the
Philippines is always like going home. It’s hard to believe this was
my 9th trip to the Philippines. So much of my heart is
there. I always have a special time with Pastor Abe and Mom Stella.
The first thing I noticed was the spiritual battle. Some strange
things I had not seen in the Philippines before. Then I realized
these were from Hong Kong. Had they followed me? They were not what
I had been fighting in Hong Kong but they were definitely from Hong
Kong. Then the Lord showed me that the enemy from Hong Kong had
entered into the Philippines by some kind of financial contract.
Sure enough I discovered that the government of the Philippines was
trying to make some kind of long-term financial agreement with Hong
Kong. This was opening a gateway to trouble. So we spent time in
prayer concerning this, to prevent the completion of this
deal.
Pastor’s Conference
It is always wonderful to see the pastors I meet with every
year. We had some wonderful meetings. The power of God was very
evident. Then we had a very special meeting with the pastors where
we were able to take time and prophesy and minister to each pastor.
It was much needed. The Lord ministered at such a deep level
reaching past the outer man into the deep inner man and ministering
to and restoring the soul. The new river of Love I have been talking
about was flowing and renewing. It seems to focus on healing in the
soul realm, though it brings healing and blessing in other areas as
well. It reaches past our outer protections and into the area of our
deepest need.
One of the pastors I had prayed with to have a child. What a
blessing to hold that child this time. The Lord loves to bless his
people. Some received such a break through but it would not be
proper to talk about it, as it is personal to them.
So many were saved that we had to have a baptismal service
before they all left. 33 were baptized in the China Sea and touched
mightily by the power of God. The sea behaved this time but the next
baptismal the sea was rough and almost carried me away a couple of
time.
Jesus Has The Answer To Cancer
So many were healed and delivered. We went to pray for a young
woman who had been working in Hong Kong but had to come home because
she was now in the final stage of cancer and now had only a day or
two to live. She was in terrible pain. First she had to repent,
because she had knowingly and willfully disobeyed God. Then 3
good-sized demons were cast out. Finally a huge demon I have only
ever seen in Hong Kong was cast out. It was a major battle but she
was healed and delivered. When we were done praying I had trouble
seeing because there was so much sweat in my eyes. I was wringing
wet from the battle. But what a joy to see that she had no more
pain.
After a week with no pain the enemy tried to come back but we
came again and battled again. Of course the Lord is victorious. It
is important to stay in the word and be careful what we say and
allow after such battles. When something that big is removed, it
will always try to come back. It is up to us to watch and pray and
fill in that big hole with the word of God. We gave her a tape of
scripture to keep on all the time. Right next door to this
house where we prayed for the lady with cancer we had an outreach
meeting. Many in the meeting gave their heart to the Lord or
re-dedicated their lives to the Lord. It was precious to see. We
returned there later to minister again.
After the first week Dr. Bob and Don went to work with another
ministry for the remaining two weeks in the Philippines. I did not
see them again until we met at the airport but I heard they had a
blessed time as well.
HOT
The average temperature ranged from 40-49 Celsius (105-120
Fahrenheit). Most of the last two weeks was 120 with 100% humidity.
That is hot. But the Lord’s fire is able to work even when it feels
like there is a natural fire.
The Lord moved powerfully in different out reaches and ministry
times. In one place so many were saved and healed. I just love it
when the Lord shows off and people get healed and saved because of
it. These people are very poor and they needed a powerful touch from
God. Eyes were healed, deaf ears, Asthma, so many things.
Even in the Sunday morning meetings many were healed, delivered
and touched by the power of God. Sunday mornings are always special
because I get up at 3:00 a.m. in order to leave at 5:00 a.m. to
minister on the radio and come back just in time to minister in the
Sunday morning church service. Many people’s eyes have been healed.
One girl had been born with a defect in her eyes and the Lord healed
it. I love to hear the report, “yes it’s well now.” It’s like God
scored a touch down. Anyone knows I can’t do that. So it was the
Lord who scored the touchdown. I always try to check to verify the
healing.
Youth Conference
We had an amazing Youth Conference. These Youth had never been
to a “fun” conference but just ones where they sit and listen only.
I said, “Let’s make this special for them and really give them
something to remember.” And so we did. It took a lot of work but it
was well worth it. When the temperature is 120 it’s nice to just
talk and not have extra things to do but we went the extra distance
for these teens and the Lord met them there. They said they had
never been to such a conference. They were so happy and as they
testified I just cried to hear how their lives had been
changed.
So many were saved that we had to have another baptismal
service in the China Sea. I counted around 25 one night and about
the same another night that gave their lives to the Lord. So during
the entire Youth Conference well over 50 that either gave their
lives to the Lord for the first time or re-committed their
lives. We baptized 30. What an interesting baptismal service
it was. It had just rained so the waves were high. Several times I
was knocked off my feet and one of the assisting pastors would have
to grab me to help me stand up. The water was strong. I couldn’t
help but laugh as I would say, “I baptize you in the name of the
Father, the Son and (jump).” (Having them jump so the next wave
wouldn’t send them tumbling.) It is a good thing they were young.
They were touched so deeply by the power of God as they were
baptized that they laid in the sand a long time. We drew a crowd as
on lookers wondered what I had done to these teens. Later the teens
just hugged me and clung to me sobbing. There lives had been
changed. I had so much salt in my eyes they stung for a long time
and sand in clothes. But what would you trade to see lives changed
like that.
These shy youth were coming out of there shells and receiving
the Lord. As they testified I heard story after story about how they
could not afford the money to come (just to travel is more than they
have. They are fed and housed once they arrive.) Many of them had
prayed for a miracle just to come and the Lord came through. Many of
them were not spirit filled when they came but they were when they
left. One Seven Day Adventist girl said her mother couldn’t
understand why she would want to come but this same girl gave her
heart to Jesus during the conference and she would never be the
same.
Silver Jeepny – God’s Protection
Tuesday morning as I was getting dressed around 6:30 a.m. I
looked up and saw clearly out my window a silver jeepney (this is a
special vehicle that is only in the Philippines. It is used to
transport groups of people). I looked at it seeing it clearly. Then
because I felt there was something wrong I looked at it again. I
wanted to remember this jeepny. There seemed to be some danger
associated with it. Then I thought how did I see that jeepny, my
windows have a milky coating on them and curtains over them, you
can’t see out of my windows. When I looked up again you could not
see out of my windows at all. Then I knew it was a very clear vision
of the Lord. I knew it was important but what did it mean.
I told Mom Stella and Pastor Abe about it but they had no idea
whose it could be. I waited and watched for this silver jeepney. The
people that came the furthest were the people from Bussot, a place
far in the mountains. Saturday afternoon there in the parking lot
was that same exact silver jeepney that I had seen in my vision. I
found out this was the jeepney that was supposed to take the people
from Bussot back home over the mountains. This is a long trip that
would take all day. I went and got Pastor Abe and my anointing oil
so we could pray. We prayed for the owner but especially for the
driver and the vehicle. I told them they must be very careful
because the Lord was giving a warning of danger.
The group from Bussot decided not to go Saturday but to stay
through Sunday to enjoy one more service, so the jeepney left and
would return the next day to take them home. Later Pastor Abe
received a message from them that they had come very close to having
a serious wreck because the driver had fallen asleep at the wheel
while driving in the mountains. Only at the last moment did he jerk
awake in time to keep the vehicle from going off the mountain. If
the people had left with him and we had not prayed to stop that
accident, they might have all been killed. I believe the Lord jerked
him awake just in the nick of time because of our prayers. Thank the
Lord for His insight that leads us to pray and stop trouble and
harm.
Demon With A Stick
One man came down from the mountains from Butoc. He was not
saved but he came because he was blind and needed a miracle. When we
prayed for him (power in agreement, so the other pastor’s there
agreed with me in prayer) He could see a bit but we couldn’t seem to
get past that point. We led him in a sinner’s prayer and then in
forgiveness for his family (as he had problems with his family). But
still there was something. Then I saw there was a demon in his
stomach.
We had to have two interpreters for every question because he
spoke a distant mountain dialect only. So I would tell Pastor Abe
who would tell Pastor Conrado who would ask the man in his dialect.
Pastor Abe told him that I saw a BIG demon in his stomach and did he
know why it was there? The man said, “yes.” He had been walking in
the woods when this young girl walked up to him. She looked very
evil. She picked up a stick and stuck it into his stomach. He was
very angry and tried to catch her but his hands went right through
her. He was not able to grab her. It was just after that he went
blind and started having many problems. But he didn’t know what to
do about it.
That night (as it was already very late at night) we broke
through and removed that demon. I told him he could see better now.
Yes, he said he could see light. Before the light had tried to come
he told us but it seemed like some darkness pushed it away. I told
him he was going to get better now. Go to sleep and we would pray
more in the morning. In the morning he was better than when he went
to bed. The Lord was dealing with me that something else needed to
be removed and I finally understood that it was that spirit stick
that the demon girl had stuck into him. As we rebuked it and
commanded it to leave he could feel it being pulled out of his
stomach. This stick had roots that went all through him, the main
ones were to his eyes.
He was seeing better now. He went with us and was water
baptized with the youth and was continuing to see more and more.
Sometimes we need to find out what gave the enemy the legal right to
be there and what is causing the sickness and remove it. Sometimes
we want to pray a simple prayer for healing and we get discouraged
when that doesn’t work but when we have a major battle with evil
forces on our hands we have to deal with an entire battle and not
just a simple prayer. Again after praying with him the evening
before I had so much sweat pouring from me that it was like a stream
from my nose and face. Warfare is intense and we have to stop giving
up after a short sweet prayer and press into the battle when we need
to no matter how hard it is. I can shower and rest but he can’t wash
away his blindness and demonic inhabitant. Where must our priority
be?
The Children
Many of you have heard me talk about the kids at the orphanage
in the Philippines. I wish like anything I had a video camera so you
could see how wonderful they are. There are so many little ones and
they love to sing and put on a special dance with music. They are
adorable. They give you so many big hugs and believe me it is
addicting. The older teens are good huggers too. They work so hard
to help and never complain. When it comes time for prayer these kids
both younger and older are the first to come up to the altar. They
want more of Jesus.
Most every morning you wake at 5:30 a.m. to hear these children
praying with all their hearts. They pray long and hard and no one
makes them. Then most evenings they have an evening devotion
followed by prayer and again they pray hard and non-stop. They would
put some grown-ups to shame with their intense prayer. I am so
blessed because they pray for me. They love me and I love them, for
real. What a ministry of love they have. Only a child can love so
sweetly and completely like they do.
They beg to wash your clothes (by hand in the heat) and thank
you for an opportunity to serve you (with a smile). WOW! They steal
your heart away and you don’t realize how much until it is time to
leave them and it is like your heart is attached and you have to
tear it to go. To see them weeping because I am leaving and to hear
them say they will be praying for me to come home to them. As you
can imagine I cry a lot when it is time to leave. I love them. They
are very special. Mom Stella and Pastor Abe are so good with kids
and teaching them about Jesus that I wish my grandkids could come
stay with them for a year or so and just learn these wonderful ways.
They gave me a beautiful yellow crocheted bedspread. That is so
very special to me. One yellow is my favorite color. Two I am the
one who taught them how to crochet. And three having this on my bed
at night will be like sleeping under a hug from these dear sweet
kids. Yes of course I cried like a baby.
I want to let you know that they have a serious need for more
permanent supporters. They didn’t ask me to say anything, they
wouldn’t, but I know their situation. One of their supporters from
England is no longer able to support them. They now have more
children than they have had, 62 when before they only had 50 before.
On top of that as I came to realize this trip, the prices of things
in the Philippines have risen a great deal. I was so surprised at
just how much. Please prayerfully consider and ask the Lord if He
wants you to support them. I know the funds go directly to them and
I go each year and see how they use those funds. I can personally
vouch for them and would any time. Pray about it.
Conclusion – Really
I want to thank you for your prayers. I needed them so much and
still do. I am changing. But I well realize I wouldn’t be able to do
this without your prayer support. I pray that these newsletters help
you realize what “your” prayers have accomplished and that when I go
you to these places in the world, you go as well. Whatever the Lord
is able to accomplish through me is through you as well. We are a
team and prayer is the bond through the Blood of Jesus Christ. With
all my heart – Thank you.
